Jawahar Navoday Entrance Exam

Navodaya Vidyalayas are affiliated to CBSE and offer free education to talented children from Class-VI to XII. Each Navodaya Vidyalaya is a co-educational residential institution providing free boarding and lodging, free school uniforms, text books, stationery, and to and fro rail and bus fare to students. However, a nominal fee @ Rs. 600/- per month is charged from students of Classes- IX to XII as Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. The students belonging to SC/ST categories, girls and children of the families Below Poverty Line (BPL) are exempted from payment of this fee. VVN is collected @ Rs. 1500/- per student per month from the students whose parents are Govt. Employees.

Satara Sainik School

Sainik School, Satara is situated at Satara City, on Pune-Banglore highway. It was the first Sainik School amongst a chain of 24 such schools established in the country. Sainik School, Satara was founded on 23 Jun 1961. through the visionary efforts of Shri Yashwantrao Chavan, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra State. It was inaugurated by the Defence Minister of India, Shri V K Krishna Menon with the aim of preparing boys academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy and other Defence Academies, who hail from financially weaker sections of the society and thereby removing the regional imbalance for such entries in the Armed Forces.

Admission Procedure and fee structure

The admission is given for class VI and class IX only. Girls are not admitted in this school. The entrance examination is held for admission to class VI & IX. Boys who are between the age of 10-12 years for admission in class VI and 13-15 for admission in class IX on 31 Mar of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to take the examination. For admission to class IX, the boys should be studying in class VIII in a recognized school. Admissions are made strictly in order of merit only in classes VI and IX.

RELAXATION IN AGE LIMIT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RESERVATION

Reservation

 

(a) 15% of the total seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes.

(b) Out of the remaining, 67% of the seats will be reserved for boys of Maharashtra State. Balance 33% left over of seats will be thrown open to boys from other States and Union Territories in the ratio of their male population. Any unutilized seats in this category will be merged with home State seats.

(c) 25% of the seats are reserved for children of service personnel including ex-servicemen

WRITTEN TEST

 

The details of written test are as under: –

Examination pattern – All India Sainik School Entrance Examination 2019 will be conducted as OMR Based examination. The medium of the examination for Class VI examination will be English, Hindi & Marathi. The question paper for Class VI will be set in English and Marathi. But question paper for Class IX will be set in English only and students are required to answer in English.

NOTES:

1. There is 10% increase on tuition fees every year.

2. Scholarships as and when received from the Govt of Maharashtra/Social welfare Dept/ Ministry of Defence will be credited to the cadet’s account.

3. All parents irrespective of income group and category are required to submit fees in advance.

4. An additional charges of Rs. 20,150/- as approved by the LBA will be remitted towards miscellaneous expenditure like dhobi charges, haircut, cinema, extra clothing, extra medicine, games equipment like football shoes, hockey sticks, extra stationary and books, school magazine, school diary, track suits, coupons, canteen items, stitching charges, insurance, CBSE / UPSC charges, hikes/excursions / journey expenditure etc.
